She heads a boutique studio in the Lakeview neighborhood.
A NOTE ABOUT WEDDINGS:
I first started photographing weddings about 20 years ago, and I remember being so enamored and influenced by Henri Cartier-Bresson, and his ability to capture the "decisive moment". My approach has developed from this. The weddings I've documented have taken me around the world, from Barbados to San Francisco, from Florida to Milwaukee, but mostly in the Chicago area.
When photographing weddings, I and my associate want to convey the joy, the love between the couple, the meticulous details, and the family and friends connection. I offer hourly a la carte photographic services for weddings, including a cd/flashdrive, or complete packages, with 6, 8, 10 or 12 hour coverage including movie, cd/flashdrive of all edited images, engagement photo and your choice of a coffee table album or a photobook. The studio also offers parent albums (copies or customized), retouching, small frames and artistic unique wall collections. Packages start at $2800, and hourly rate begins at 350/hr. All hourly and packages include a flash drive or web transfer of images. Minimum is 4 hours is recommended, but exceptions may be made on Fridays or Sundays. Please inquire about your date.
A NOTE ABOUT ENGAGEMENTS:
We can plan a studio or location session for your engagement photos. A session is included with wedding packages. I see this session as a "get to know you" photographically speaking. I suggest photographing in a season opposite from your wedding if timing allows, and in different location than we are discussing for your wedding. I encourage feedback as this will aid me in the wedding day to capture flattering angles, and to listen more to your ideas and wishes for great wedding photography.
A NOTE ABOUT MATERNITY PHOTOS:
I understand the joy of expecting a baby. This is a unique time in your life, and it's a great opportunity to commemorate it with an artful portrait of you, and some with your partner. I use a combination of studio lighting and natural light, and also some with hanging diffusion to create a more abstract artful image. A photo session is $150 during the week, and $200 on weekends, includes 1 8x10. Add this on to a first year package for only additional $100.
A NOTES ABOUT MITZVAHS:
I first began photographing bar and bat mitzvahs for my past wedding clients whose children were coming of age. Since then, I've photographed these wonderful moments in a young person's life. I love the traditions of the portraits in the temple and with the torah. I love this unique glimpse into young teenager's lives, if even for a day. Packages range $2000-3000 for 5-6 hours including jpgs and a custom album. Shorter packages including 3 or 4 hours of photography coverage is available. I also offer a portrait session for the bar/bat mitzvah, and sometimes with the whole family to be used as decor for the event. Tell us your plans and we'll send a custom quote.
A NOTE ABOUT SENIOR PORTRAITS:
As the young people in my life reached the end of high school, I began photographing these senior portraits. I see the senior portrait session as very much a collaborative effort. I want to hear about you or your teenager and what makes them unique, what their joys and hobbies are. We can incorporate some of those into our photos. My studio is available for portraits with a variety of backdrops, studio and natural light. I can also suggest a neighborhood, park, beach, or urban setting that would work well for a unique, abstract or meaningful backdrop. Packages range $150-$1500.
A NOTE ABOUT HEADSHOTS:
The basic in studio headshot is $150. I will take 30-50 photos with professional studio lighting and with natural light. We will assist in selecting the best image, and apply some retouching and enhancing your best features. Additional jpgs $50. Allow 20-45 minutes. Most days, we can accommodate same day requests. We'll send you a complete price list for your wedding, portrait, mitzvah or event. Commercial samples (headshots, educational institutions, architectural and product photography) can be seen at www.koningphotography.com. We love an opportunity to quote your project.
A NOTE ABOUT PORTRAITS:
My new studio is in the loft building at Grace & Ravenswood, right across the metra train track behind Trader Joe's on Lincoln. My portraits sittings usually range 1/2 hr up to 1 1/2 hours. For 1 child, I find that 1/2 hr is enough. For families with 2 or more children, I suggest an hour appointment. For newborns, I recommend allowing 1-1.5 hours.
Rates: Mini session 1/2 hr sitting during the week $100
Hour session: $200
OPEN STUDIOS will start spring in May 2018. Fall open studios are often at Montrose Harbor near bird sanctuary and with skyline views, and in Horner Park. Also November and December are based in the studio and we go outside if weather cooperates. Appointments are $120 for 30 minute sitting + $200 all digital files if you pre-order.
First year portrait package: $1500 includes 4 sessions, digital images, an 8x8 custom album at the end. 3, 6, 9 and 12 months OR newborn, 4, 8, 12 months is a great option for this package. OR stretch it to a 2 year packages with 6, 12, 18, and 24 month sessions.
Extended families: $300-400 (studio or location)
I offer prints $10-75 ( 4x6 to 11x14s), and I love to sit down with my clients to create a unique wall collection, discuss and design a custom holiday card, or talk about enhancement and retouching ideas or requests. If you would like to purchase all jpgs from the session, it is $250 or $350-400 for extended families. You can print up to 8x10s with the files. When the studio processes print orders, we spend additional time to enhance the images, including head/eye swaps, removing blemishes, wrinkles, removing people, resizing, adding artistic brushes and actions, extending the image for gallery wraps, etc.
